Ron Dorgo was Watanabe's security guard for 6 years with nothing to show for it except a nice apartment, a luxury car and a beautiful wife. He had done everything he was asked to do, so he had no questions when he had the opportunity to join what he thought was an elite squad of guardsmen. That's what they said the injection was for.
He is now stronger, tougher and looks much more intimidating than before.
Unfortunately, Ron's wife was not a fan of his new face, and the apartment building evicted him citing a "no cybermutants" clause that everyone laughed at when they signed the lease.
Without a wife to worry about, Ron went ahead and gave Watanabe permission to replace his arm with the ZF-1 gun. He got a big bonus check for that!
